Darko Čeferin

Darko Čeferin (born July 11, 1968 in Yugoslavia ) is a Slovenian football referee from Kranj .

Čeferin was used by UEFA in 2002 at the U-19 European Football Championship in Norway; here he whistled the final between Germany and Spain, which the Spaniards won 1-0. In October of that year he led his first European Championship qualifier with the match between Greece and Armenia , which was followed by Liechtenstein's 4-0 defeat in Slovakia on April 2, 2003. In 2004 he whistled the World Cup qualifier between Georgia and Denmark . In Kaiserslautern , on May 27, 2008, he was in charge of a friendly between the German national team and Belarus . The preparation game for the EM 2008 ended in a 2-2 draw.

Čeferin also appears regularly in the UEFA Cup and Champions League ; most recently he led the Champions League on November 27, 2007, VfB Stuttgart's 3-2 victory over Glasgow Rangers .
