Darnell Johnson (born September 3, 1998 in Leicester ) is an English football player who is under contract with Leicester City .

Career

Darnell Johnson played in the Leicester City youth team from 2014 . In August 2018 he signed his first professional contract with the Foxes. Previously, he had already made two appearances in the Football League Trophy against Cheltenham Town and Morecambe FC , as well as in the U-21 Premier League . In January 2019, the 20-year-old was awarded to the Scottish first division club Hibernian Edinburgh . He made his debut for the Hibs on February 6, 2019 against Celtic Glasgow when he came on for David Gray at Paradise . In the 2-0 defeat he committed a serious foul on Celtic player Emilio Izaguirre , for which he only saw a yellow card from Craig A. Thomson . Johnson was later suspended from the Scottish FA for two games.

National team

In 2013 and 2014 Johnson played once in the English U-16s . In 2014 he was also used eight times in the U-17 . In 2015 he completed two international matches for the U-18s . With the U-19 he won in 2017 the European Championship this age group in Georgia . In the preliminary round he was only used in the game against Germany . In the semifinals against the Czech Republic and in the final against Portugal he was used for the entire 90 minutes of the game. In total, it was used six times in the U-19 . Johnson played in the U-20 four times between 2017 and 2018 . He got two goals.
