The Bavarian Millennium
The Bavarian Millennium is a series of programs on Bavarian television from 2011 (first broadcast: March 31, 2012), which investigates the history of Bavaria in the second millennium and conveys the causes and processes of social development. In ten 45-minute episodes, one episode each representing a century, the program's speaker and presenter Udo Wachtveitl uses information, interviews, game scenes, animations and objects to see as well as visiting today's locations to give a new perspective on Bavaria's history . Each episode of the ten-part documentary series by Christian Lappe was dedicated to a century and a city from which the history of Bavaria is told and developed:
- 11th century : Bamberg
- 12th century : Würzburg
- 13th century : Regensburg
- 14th century : Straubing
- 15th century : Nuremberg
- 16th century : Augsburg
- 17th century : Ingolstadt
- 18th century : Erlangen
- 19th century : Fürth
- 20th century : Munich
