The Lumpenpack is a German rock / pop duo, consisting of Max Kennel (born September 7, 1991 in Augsburg ) and Jonas Meyer (born January 20, 1989 in Kassel ).

history

Kennel and Meyer come from the poetry slam scene ; Kennel won the Bavarian Poetry Slam Championships twice (2012 and 2013), Meyer the Rhineland Palatinate State Championships in 2013. Since 2012 they have been together as Das Lumpenpack, first on German poetry slam stages, then as singer-songwriters. Her first CD, Steil-Geh-LP , was released in December 2013 . Since then, they have had numerous appearances at comedy festivals, in television and radio broadcasts and as part of their extensive steep-walk tour . Their second album, released in 2015, is titled Steil II . In March 2017, they became the permanent band on the television show Nightwash . In their comedic songs they deal with the disillusionment in their late twenties, after the big party phase in life.

Kennel and Meyer live in Stuttgart. They have completed their respective studies in psychology and the special school teaching post for German and Protestant theology, but do not work in these professions, but live from their stage appearances.

On March 16, 2020, the Lumpenpack played a "quarantine concert". Due to the canceled concerts in the wake of the corona pandemic , they broadcast a concert from the deserted Gloria Theater live on YouTube . To be found the concert instead, the rabble had in a crowdfunding - campaign for donations called. To cover the necessary expenses, 10,000 euros were necessary. On March 17, 2020, the stand was 135,000 euros. The additional money will be used to support cultural workers, who mostly work in the background.
