Dave B.

David Atrell Bowman (born March 26, 1992 in Renton , Washington ) is an American rapper , singer-songwriter and record producer from Seattle . He is under contract with the independent label Goodrich & Gold . In 2013 David won the EMP Sound Off together with his friends Dominque Duncan and Joe Simpson as the hip-hop band "Dave B" ! , an annual Seattle competition run by the Experience Music Project .

biography

David Bowman attended Lindbergh Senior High School in Renton and graduated from it in 2010. In high school, he was part of the school's basketball and track and field teams .

In the fifth grade , David was already on stage for a musical theater . He taught himself to play the piano during this time. In addition to music and acting , he also has a weakness for dance . After finishing school, David attended Columbia College Chicago in Chicago , Illinois . At the College of Liberal Arts, which specializes in art and media, he studied "audio production" and "musical theater". However, he soon turned his back on it, went back to Seattle and began to focus on his music career.

Dave B counts the hip-hop musicians André 3000 , Kanye West and Erykah Badu , the gospel singers Fred Hammond and Kirk Franklin , as well as the jazz legend Thelonious Monk and the rock musician Jimi Hendrix among his favorite artists and influences. His own sound is a diverse mixture of elements from electro pop , hip hop, indie rock , jazz, rap , reggae , R&B and soul .

David also appeared as a model. In 2015, he was the face of the autumn campaign The Vault by Vans x The North Face Collection by shoe manufacturer Vans and clothing company The North Face .
