David Adolph von Wulffen

David Adolph von Wulffen († July 2, 1704 at Schellenberg ) was a Prussian brigadier , chief of the infantry regiment of the same name and district administrator of the Greifenhagen district . He was also the governor of Schlandstedt, Schwedt and Wildenbruch, a knight of the Order of St. John and heir to Selchow and Spinterfelde.

Life

origin

His parents were the royal Swedish district administrator of the district of Greifenhagen Kaspar Dietlof von Wulffen (1617–1674) and his wife Anna Catharina, née von Steinwehr († 1655).

Military career

In 1692 he became a lieutenant colonel in the “de Briquemault” infantry regiment and on May 25, 1695, commander of Wesel . In 1703 the chief of his regiment Lieutenant General von Schlabberndorf was transferred to the Küstrin fortress as governor . Wulffen was then appointed colonel and new head of the regiment. Shortly afterwards he became a brigadier. During the War of the Spanish Succession he fought in the Battle of Schellenberg in 1704 . There he led the first attack on the mountain, where he fell. He was buried in the main church in Nördlingen.

family

Wulffen married Henriette Dorothea von Dankelmann on October 18, 1683 , a daughter of the Minister Eberhard von Danckelman from his first marriage. The couple had their daughter Luise Juliane, who married Chamberlain Friedrich Heinrich von Barfuß († November 1, 1728).
