David Christie (born Jacques Pépino ; born January 1, 1948 in Tarare , France , † May 11, 1997 in Capbreton , Landes department , France) was a French singer and songwriter , who also went by the pseudonyms James Bolden , Napoleon Jones and Philippe Tarare worked. His biggest hit as a singer was the 1982 single Saddle Up .
biography
David Christie settled in Paris in 1965 . He learned guitar , bass and piano . First he made a name for himself as a songwriter. He penned hits for Tina Charles (1976 - I Love to Love , Love Me Like a Lover ), Grace Jones (1978 - Do or Die ) and Gloria Gaynor (1975 - (If You Want It) Do It Yourself ).
Christie had short-term success as a soloist and singer of catchy pop songs in 1982 and 1983 . The single Saddle Up reached number twelve in the German , number four in the Swiss and number nine in the British charts . Our Time Has Come made it into the top 50 in Germany.
Christie had a daughter with the French singer Nina Morato . After her death at the age of 11, Christie took her own life.
