David Fitzgerald Doyle (born December 1, 1929 in Omaha , Nebraska , USA , † February 26, 1997 in Los Angeles , California ) was an American actor .

Life

Doyle's father, Lewis Raymond Doyle, was a lawyer, as was Doyle's brother and grandfather. His other grandfather, John Fitzgerald, was a well-known banker and road builder. Doyle's sister Mary Doyle († 1995) was also an actress. From 1956 to 1968 Doyle was married to Rachel Doyle before she died in an accident. On January 11, 1969, Doyle married Anne Nathan, with whom he was married until his death.

On February 26, 1997, Doyle died of a heart attack in Los Angeles .

Career

Doyle , who came from a family of lawyers , played for the first time in a play at the age of six . Despite successfully completing a law degree at the University of Nebraska , he finally decided against the legal profession and for acting. 1956 Doyle played on Broadway in the play Will Success Spoil Rock Hunter? with, where he replaced Walter Matthau .

Doyle made his film debut in 1959 in the film Happy Anniversary . Then he was in numerous television series such as Hawaii five-zero , Hart but cordial or Mord is her hobby as a guest star. His most famous role is that of John Bosley in the series Charlie's Angels , which Doyle played in 113 episodes from 1976 to 1981.
