David Fonseca (* 14. June 1973 in Marrazes ) is a Portuguese Pop - singer and songwriter .

Life

He completed a film degree at the Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema and worked as a fashion photographer. In 1995 he founded the group Silence 4 in Leiria , which had great success in Portugal both with their concerts and with the sales of their two albums. In 2002 Fonseca began his solo career and left the band, which then broke up.

In 2003 his first solo album was released. Sing Me Something New rose to number two on the charts in Portugal. The album Our Hearts Will Beat As One , which followed in 2005 , reached number one on the Portuguese sales charts. He shot the video for Hold Still , his duet with Rita Redshoes , which he invited to his backing band, in London. His subsequent publications also reached top positions on the charts.

Fonseca was nominated for the 2003 and 2005 MTV Europe Music Awards .

In 2004 he was involved in the Humanos project, a tribute band for the late pop musician António Variações . a. the Clã singer Manuela Azevedo , the Fado singer Camané , and the bunny ranch musician João Cardoso took part.

Fonseca's concert in the Coliseu dos Recreios on April 12, 2008 was released on DVD and CD.

With the 2015 released Futuro Eu , he sang a full album in Portuguese for the first time . The work rose to number one on the Portuguese sales charts. Two years later he released a tribute album to the recently deceased David Bowie . This was the fifth time he reached the top of the chart.

Since the beginning of his solo career, he has designed the covers of his publications himself and has made his own video clips .
