David Hampshire (born December 29, 1917 in Mickleover , England , † August 25, 1990 in Newton Soleney ) was a British automobile racing driver .

Career

In the first official Formula 1 season in 1950 he contested two races for the World Championship counting for the Scuderia Ambrosiana, which used a Maserati, but could not achieve any championship points. His only finish was ninth in the very first Formula 1 race at Silverstone .

Hampshire also drove some non-world championship races, including winning the Nottingham Grand Prix in 1950 .
