David Marshall Grant
David Marshall Grant (born June 21, 1955 in Westport , Connecticut ) is an American actor.
Career
He makes his film debut alongside Debra Winger , Jean Rochefort and Marie-France Pisier in the leading role of Alex in the German-American co-production French Postcards (Who else goes to university?). Then lead roles in dramas such as The End of August (1982) and as Sonny alongside Matt Dillon in Chicago Blues (1987). On TV, among others, as Willard "Diggers" Barnes in Dallas : How It All Began , as Robert F. Kennedy alongside James Woods in Citizen Cohn and as Jake alongside Claude Jade in What the Painter Saw , a TV film from the mystery series Der Hitchhiker . One of his best TV roles was Dennis in 1993, alongside Matthew Modine , Nathalie Baye , Anjelica Huston and Richard Gere in the AIDS drama ... and Life Goes on by Roger Spottiswoode . In 2006 he played Anne Hathaway's father in The Devil Wears Prada .
In the 1990s and 2000s, mainly guest roles in series such as The Best Years , Chicago Hope , Law & Order , Alias - The Agent , CSI: Miami and Numb3rs .
