David Ulm (born June 30, 1984 in Wissembourg ) is a former French football player . During his career he played for various teams in France and Germany between the second and fifth leagues. During his playing career, he rose to the 3rd division with three different clubs .
Career as a player
Beginnings in Alsace
Born in Wissembourg in Alsace , Ulm started playing football in Seebach before joining the youth team at FCSR Haguenau . In 1998 he moved to the football school of the first division team Racing Strasbourg . There he went through the youth teams and was among other things in 2003 with the A-youth of the club in the final of the Coupe Gambardella , the junior national cup. In the 2000/01 season he was first used in the second team of RCS and was a regular player in the 2003/04 season. In 2005 he moved within the CFA , the fourth highest French division, to FC Mulhouse , for which he scored seven goals this season.
Career in Germany
Sportfreunde Siegen and FSV Frankfurt
Then he moved to Germany to the regional league team Sportfreunde Siegen . There he was used once in his first season in the third highest division and otherwise played for the second team in the association league . When the same trend became apparent in the 2007/08 season, he dissolved his contract and moved to league rivals FSV Frankfurt . From March 1, 2008 he was used in all 15 remaining games of the season and scored three goals in his first five games. At the end of the season, the Frankfurt team rose to the top of the table in the 2nd Bundesliga , making Ulm a professional for the first time in its career. His contract, which was originally only concluded until the end of the season, was extended by one year to 2009. He made his second division debut on the first day of the 2008/09 season on August 17, 2008 in the 1: 2 defeat by Rot Weiss Ahlen . In the 2008/09 season he was a supplementary player and completed 16 games.
Kickers Offenbach and SV Sandhausen
For the 2009/10 season he moved to Kickers Offenbach in the third division. For the Kickers he completed 32 games in the season after which the club finished seventh in the table, in which he scored eight times. However, he only played eleven games over 90 minutes. From the 2010/11 season, Ulm played for SV Sandhausen . He made his debut on July 24, 2010 in a 4-1 win over Wacker Burghausen in the starting eleven. During the season he became a regular at SV Sandhausen. The following year he moved from the striker to attacking midfield and scored ten goals this season. He was the second best goalscorer of the sand houses; the team rose as third division champions in the 2nd Bundesliga. His contract in Sandhausen ended on June 30, 2014.
Arminia Bielefeld
Ulm then worked daily with a fitness trainer in Heidelberg and trained regularly as a guest at SV Waldhof Mannheim . In September 2014 he received a two-year contract with the then third division club Arminia Bielefeld . With the Arminia he reached the DFB Cup semi-finals 2014/15 ; In the league he played 31 times, scored seven goals and rose with the team to the 2nd Bundesliga . After four converted penalty kicks in the 2014/15 season , Ulm also converted three penalties for Arminia in the 2015/16 season . On May 20, 2016, he extended his contract term to 2017. In the 2016/17 season , he played in twelve point games and scored one goal. His contract term was extended by a year because he had reached a certain number of competitive games. Nevertheless, the club no longer planned with Ulm, so that he was used in the U23 in the fifth-class Oberliga Westfalen until his contract ended in 2018 . After the contract expired, he ended his career after the 2017/18 season. He is active for the traditional Arminia team.
