Dawn of Azazel is a New Zealand death metal band from Auckland that was formed in 1999.

history

The band was formed in 1999. In the following years the first appearances and two demos followed. In 2002, the Italian label Hellflame Records released the single Bloodforged Abducation , which had a circulation of 500 copies. As a result, various labels became aware of the band and a first international tour could be held. In November 2003 the debut album The Law of the Strong followed on the Polish label Agonia Records . The publication was followed by local concerts, and magazines such as Terrorizer and Metal Maniacs became aware of the group. After a tour through New Zealand, it went on a European tour with performances in Germany , France , Austria , Switzerland , the Netherlands and Belgium . After the tour, guitarist Tony Angelov and drummer Phil Osborne left the cast. The formation then decided to continue with only three, so that only Osborne was replaced. Martin Cavanagh joined him in early 2005. This was followed by rehearsals before going on a tour of New Zealand that included 13 gigs. After the tour ended, the group went to Kog Studios to record a second album. After an appearance at the Bloodlust Festival, the group signed a contract with Ibex Moon Records , about which the second album was released under the name Sedition . After that, the group held more than 120 performances. In 2006 she went on a 13-gig tour through New Zealand, Thailand and Indonesia with Disgorge . In May, Dawn of Azazel opened up for 6,000 fans for Korn's only performance in New Zealand. For the rest of the month another 24 appearances followed for the first time in the USA together with Vital Remains and Incantation . In December they went on tour through New Zealand and Australia together with Deicide . In 2007 the band performed at the Australian Overcranked Festival before embarking on a tour that included 32 appearances in Germany, France, the Netherlands, England , Ireland , Scotland , Belgium, Austria, Spain , Portugal , Switzerland and the Czech Republic . The tour also took Immolation , Krisiun and Grave part. Then the band played with Motörhead in New Zealand and went on a tour with Behemoth through Australasia . In 2008 the band separated from drummer Cavanagh, for which Jeremy Suckling came on. The next gigs followed in March together with Kataklysm in Australia and Children of Bodom in New Zealand. Later that year, the group moved to Mana Studios in Tampa , Florida to record their third album, Relentless . The sound carrier was released in 2009 via Unique Leader Records . Then it went on tour through Australia together with Krisiun. In addition, the bands played appearances together with Megadeth , Suffocation , Necrophagist , Dying Fetus , Morbid Angel and Slayer . From 2010 to the end of 2012 Dawn of Azazel took a longer break before going on a tour of Australia with Thy Art Is Murder .

Sitl

According to Dasher10 from metalunderground.com , most of the songs on Relentless would be about alcohol consumption, sexual intercourse and violence. The music is aggressive Death Metal, which is atypical and to which you have to get used to. On the one hand, it sounds like a metalcore singer who would choke on the nails or like a more sophisticated version of John Tardy . The riffs are memorable and progressive .
