Debralee Scott

Debralee Scott (born April 2, 1953 in Elizabeth , New Jersey , † April 5, 2005 in Amelia Island , Florida ) was an American film actress .

biography

Born the youngest of three sisters grew Scott in Stroudsburg ( Pennsylvania on), where she was in school cheerleader occurred. Shortly after her 18th birthday, Scott was offered her first role in Dirty Harry in 1971 .

She also appeared in supporting roles in American Graffiti in 1973 and Earthquake in 1974 . In 1978 she auditioned for the role of Marty in Grease , but had to leave the role to the then much better known actress Dinah Manoff . In 1984 she took on her best-known role with Mrs. Fackler in the comedy film Police Academy . Two years later, in 1986, she returned to the big screen again in the third installment for this role.

In 1989, Scott retired from acting and settled in New York City . Like her sister Jerilynn Scott, Debralee Scott became a talent scout for acting in the New York area. In 2001 she announced her engagement to John Dennis Levi, a Port Authority police officer who was killed in the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks .

In March 2005, Scott moved from New York City to Amelia Island to take care of her ailing sister, Carol Anne , a film producer who had also produced several Robert Altman films . Shortly after arriving on Amelia Island, Scott fell into a coma from which she did not wake up until a few days later. She was released on April 2, 2005, her 52nd birthday.

Three days later, Scott died during an afternoon nap. An autopsy of the actress was inconclusive.
