Ernst Ludwig Moritz Dedo von Krosigk (born August 1, 1848 in Liegnitz , Province of Silesia , † December 23, 1908 in Potsdam ) was a Prussian major general .

Life

origin

He was the son of the government councilor Moritz von Krosigk (1816–1862) and his wife Leonie, née Freiin von Rothkirch and Trach (1824–1897).

Military career

Krosigk attended the Roßleben monastery school from 1861 to June 1, 1866 . On June 25, 1866, during the German War , he joined the reserve squadron of the 3rd Guard Uhlan Regiment of the Prussian Army as a three-year-old volunteer . However, he did not enter the battle and was promoted to second lieutenant until February 8, 1868 . As such, Krosigk took part in the fighting at Beaumont and Sedan and the siege of Paris during the war against France in 1870/71 . He was awarded the Iron Cross 2nd class and, after the peace treaty , was sent to the Hanover Military Riding Institute from November 1, 1872 to September 30, 1874 . On October 15, 1874, he was promoted to Prime Lieutenant and on June 11, 1881 to Rittmeister . At the same time Krosigk received his appointment as squadron chief . Under position à la suite of his regiment, Krosigk became a teacher at the Military Riding Institute on September 20, 1887. On 22 May 1889 he got there the character as a Major and on 21 September 1889, the patent for this rank. As a regular staff officer , Krosigk was transferred to the Königs-Ulanen-Regiment (1st Hannoversches) No. 13 on November 19, 1891 and promoted to lieutenant colonel on June 18, 1895 . On July 14, 1895, he was transferred to Kassel , where Krosigk was given command of the hussar regiment "Landgrave Friedrich II of Hesse-Homburg" (2nd Hessian) No. 14 . Promoted to colonel on December 21, 1897 , he was commissioned on June 10, 1899 to lead the 2nd Guards Cavalry Brigade and on May 22, 1900, he was appointed commander of this brigade . On September 14, 1900, Krosigk was awarded the Order of the Crown, 2nd class, for his achievements . Due to a worsening deafness he was on February 16, 1901 Presentation of the character as a major general with the statutory board for disposition made.

Krosigk was a legal knight of the Order of St. John .

He married Sophie von Alvensleben (* 1853) on June 20, 1875 in Erxleben . From which three children emerged:
