Dejan Kovačević (born December 27, 1996 in Munich ) is a German basketball player of Bosnian descent who has been a member of the Crailsheim Merlins Bundesliga squad since summer 2019 .

Player career

Kovačević played in the youth team of TuS Fürstenfeldbruck and MTSV Schwabing , before moving to the youth department of FC Bayern Munich in 2013, where he raved about the football team as a child. In 2015 he won the championship title in the youth basketball league with FCB . In July 2015 he signed his first professional contract with Bayern. In the 2015/16 season he was one of the top performers of the club's second men's team, which became champions of the 1st Regionalliga Süd-Ost and was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga ProB . He made his Bundesliga debut on November 29, 2015 in Munich's victory over Crailsheim .

In July 2017 he moved to s.Oliver Würzburg within the Bundesliga . He was used in 14 Bundesliga games during the 2017/18 season and scored 3.6 points per game. His time in Würzburg ended in the summer of 2018, he moved to the Basketball Löwen Braunschweig within the league . In addition, he was issued a gaming license for missions in the shirt of Braunschweig's partner club, Duke Wolfenbüttel . In summer 2019, he moved to the Crailsheim Merlins within the Bundesliga .

National team

Kovačević was initially a member of the Serbian junior national team, in 2015 he then played for the German U20 team.
