Career

The 2.01 m tall and 100 kilogram heavy small forward began playing basketball in the youth department of FC Bayern Munich and then played for MTSV Schwabing . In 2002 he switched to the Skyliners Frankfurt , where he was initially employed with the cooperation teams Eintracht Frankfurt, MTV Kronberg and TV Langen. Since the 2004/05 season he played in the Bundesliga team of Hessen . He was one of the greatest talents of his year and was consequently appointed to the extended squad of the national team. Since he in Frankfurt but not quite came to the course and he rarely received service time, he moved to the 2008/09 season to the Telekom Baskets Bonn and signed a contract there for two seasons.

In his first season in Bonn , Alex King was able to double his statistics in almost every category and was an integral part of the Bonn team. At the end of July 2010, King extended his contract by one year and was therefore also available for Telekom Baskets Bonn in the 2010/11 season . For the 2011/12 season , King decided not to stay with Telekom Baskets Bonn and signed a two-year contract with Bundesliga competitor s.Oliver Baskets from Würzburg . On December 5, 2012, he set a new EuroCup record in the game against Azovmash Mariupol with seven threes in seven throws .

For the 2013/14 season , King used a clause in his contract and left the baskets from Würzburg and moved within the league to Alba Berlin . In the 2014/15 season he was appointed captain of the Berlin team. In August 2016 he left the capital for Munich and returned to FC Bayern. In the 2017/18 season, King, who is particularly famous for his defensive achievements, won the FCB championship and cup competition. In 2019 he became German champion again.
