Demian Richardson

Demian Richardson (born November 15, 1970 in New York City ) is an American jazz trumpeter .

Live and act

Richardson took trumpet lessons from the age of eight and completed a classical education at the New England Conservatory of Music . Under the influence of the music of Ornette Coleman , he occupied himself with free jazz ; since then he has worked a. a. with Cecil Taylor , Ornette Coleman, Jimmy Giuffre , Joe Maneri , Ran Blake , Allen Ginsberg , Lester Bowie , Philip Wilson , William Parker , Ed Schuller , John Blum , Dennis Charles and with the crossover band Fishbone . In 2009 he worked with Daniel Carter , Federico Ughi , Matthew Putman and David Moss on the album The Gowanus Recordings . The following year his debut album Wake Up for Those Who Care To Listen was created with a similar line-up . In the following years he worked a. a. also with Jimmy Bennington , Dominic Duval , Jon Irabagon and Jay Rosen . In the field of jazz he was involved in seven recording sessions between 2009 and 2011. In addition to his jazz projects, he played with the rock band White Trash , with the avant punk band Rock Hop Ninjas and with the improvisation band Monticello (with Daniel Carter).
