The Demidowski rajon ( Russian Демидовский район ) is a raion in Smolensk Oblast in Russia . It is located in the northwest of the oblast. 14,900 inhabitants (2010) live on an area of ​​2512 km². The administrative center of the Rajons is the small town of Demidow with about 7,330 inhabitants (2010).

Neighboring rajons are in the southwest of the Rudnjanski rajon , in the west of the Welischski rajon , in the east of the Duchowschtschinski rajon and in the south of the Smolenski rajon . In the north the Demidowski rajon borders the Tver Oblast .
