Denis Croteau

Denis Croteau OMI (born October 23, 1932 in Thetford Mines ) is a Canadian clergyman of the Catholic Church and Former Bishop of Mackenzie-Fort Smith .

Life

Denis Croteau joined the Order of the Oblates of the Immaculate Virgin Mary , made his profession on September 8, 1956 and was ordained a priest on August 31, 1958 .

Pope John Paul II named him Bishop of Mackenzie-Fort Smith on January 24, 1986 . The episcopal ordination donated him the bishop emeritus of Mackenzie-Fort Smith, Paul Piché OMI, on June 8 of the same year; Co- consecrators were Omer Alfred Robidoux OMI, Bishop of Churchill-Baie d'Hudson , and Henri Légaré OMI, Archbishop of Grouard-McLennan .

He was appointed Apostolic Administrator of Whitehorse on May 14, 2003, and resigned on January 5, 2006. On May 10, 2008, Pope Benedict XVI. his age-related resignation.
