The Italian football championship 1926/27 was the 26th Italian football championship , which was held by the Federazione Italiana Giuoco Calcio (FIGC). The Italian champion in 1926/27 was the FBC Turin , but later the title was withdrawn from the club, so that there is no official Italian champion from 1927. First there was a preliminary round in two groups, the three best teams in each group qualified for the final round, where the Italian football champions 1926/27 were played.
FBC Turin was thus the Italian football champion in 1926/27.
Bribery scandal
The joy of the Turin supporters over the first championship title in the club's history was short-lived, because the FBC was stripped of the title the next year because they were involved in the first Italian football scandal. FBC Turin officials had offered the Juve player Luigi Allemandi money of 50,000 lire before the last round of the final game against Juventus Turin so that he could play badly and win Torino. Allemandi did not respond to it, however, the FBC Turin won the game 2-1 and thus the championship. But in retrospect, the attempted bribery was discovered and the title was revoked from FBC Turin, and the officials concerned were banned for life. A new title holder for 1926/27 was not determined.
