The Italian Football Championship in 1900 was the third Italian football championship held by the Federazione Italiana Giuoco Calcio (FIGC).

organization

From March 4 to April 8, 1900, the regional qualifying matches for the final took place. The semi-finals took place on April 15, 1900. On April 22, 1900, FC Torinese and defending champion CFC Genoa met in Turin in the final, although the defending champion had home rights according to the tournament rules. However, the Italian association based in Turin had changed its mind, which is why CFC Genoa initially withdrew its participation. The association offered the Genoese a travel allowance of 150 lire, but they continued to refuse. In the end they arrived anyway and prevailed 3-1 in extra time. This was the third time in a row that the club became Italian champions, so that the trophy of the time, the Coppa Duca degli Abruzzi, was permanently owned by the Genoese. The player Dan Fawcus then donated the Fawcus trophy, which from now on was awarded to the master.

Attendees

With AC Milan , a club from Lombardy took part for the first time , and today's record champions Juventus Turin also took part.
