Italian football championship 1919/20
The Italian football championship 1919/20 was the first national football championship after the end of the First World War . The champions of the north, Inter Milan , won the final in Bologna against the champions of the south, AS Livorno .
background
After the Battle of Vittorio Veneto , on November 3, 1918, the armistice of Villa Giusti came , which ended the First World War for the Italians . The FIGC took soon after along with the regional associations with the preliminary planning for a reintroduction of the Italian championship.
Some players from the Italian teams also died in the war. This was followed by a process of concentration which, on the one hand, resulted in some teams being disbanded and, on the other hand, resulted in a particularly large number of clubs in the big cities. In addition, some new clubs were created.
