Luigi Allemandi (born November 8, 1903 in San Damiano Macra ( CN ), † September 25, 1978 in Pietra Ligure ( SV )) was an Italian football player , he played on the position of a defender .

Career

Allemandi started his career at AC Legnano , where he made good appearances for a Serie A club. In 1925 Juventus Turin secured the services of the defensive player. He won his first Scudetto in the Bianconeri jersey in 1925/26 and was appointed to the national team for the first time by national coach Vittorio Pozzo .

In 1926/27 Allemandi was involved in a bribery scandal. On the last day of the match, FC Turin and FC Bologna fought for the championship, with the Turin team facing local rivals Juventus . In order to secure the title for Turin, some officials of the Turin FC offered money to Allemandi so that it should play poorly and the Turin FC could win the game. However, Allemandi did not respond and was one of the best of his team at this game, despite the fact that Turin FC won 2-1. The bribery scandal was exposed, the officials of FC Turin were banned for life and the club's title was revoked, but not awarded to any other team.

For the 1927/28 season, Allemandi moved to Ambrosiana-Inter . Again he was appointed to the Squadra Azzurra after Umberto Caligaris on February 11, 1934, in a friendly game against Austria , let his opponent Karl Zischek allow his opponent Karl Zischek to score three goals. This enabled Allemandi to take part in the 1934 World Cup and was used in all five games when Italy became world champions for the first time.

With the Nerazzurri Luigi Allemandi won his second Scudetto in the 1929/30 season . In 1935/36 he moved to AS Roma , where he initially played again in the national team, before being replaced by the young Juve player, Pietro Rava , after a total of 24 games . 1937/38 Allemandi played in Serie B at AC Venice , after one season he returned to Serie A to Lazio Rome , where he let his career end.

After the Second World War , Allemandi worked as a sales representative in the small coastal town of Pietra Ligure , where he died in 1978 at the age of 74.
