Denis Jachiet (born April 21, 1962 in Paris , France ) is a French clergyman and Roman Catholic auxiliary bishop in Paris .

Life

Denis Jachiet holds a PhD in Chemistry and worked as a Research Associate at the University of California, Los Angeles . In 1990 he entered the seminary and studied at the École Cathédrale . After further studies, he obtained a licentiate at the Institut d'Études Théologiques di Bruxelles and received the sacrament of ordination for the Archdiocese of Paris on June 29, 1996 .

In addition to various tasks in pastoral care, he was active from 2000 to 2010 in priestly training and as a teacher at the École Cathédrale . From 2002 to 2009 he was diocesan commissioner for vocational pastoral care and since 2005 a member of the priests' council . From 2013 to 2014 he was the diocesan pastor of the Catholic Boy Scouts . In 2014 he was appointed vicar general and titular canon at the Notre-Dame de Paris cathedral .

On 25 June 2016 it appointed Pope Francis to the titular bishop of Tigisi in Numidia and Auxiliary Bishop in Paris. The Archbishop of Paris, André Cardinal Vingt-Trois , donated him and the simultaneously appointed Thibault Verny the episcopal ordination on September 9 of the same year . Co- consecrators were the Paris auxiliary bishop Jérôme Beau and the bishop of Blois , Jean-Pierre Batut .
