A short branch branches off after the Southmoor stop and runs along the median of the I-225 to the Nine Mile stop. The entire route is 19 miles (31 km) long and has 13 stations. The new building took place as part of the Transportation Expansion (T-REX) Project, which also expanded the highways in southern Denver . Construction began on September 24, 2001, and the opening took place on November 17, 2006. With the exception of the Louisiana-Pearl station, all stops have park-and-ride facilities with a total of over 7,000 parking spaces.
