Deobia Oparei
Deobia Oparei (born July 7, 1971 in Hackney , London ) is a British actor .
Life
Oparei has been in front of the camera since 1990. He had minor appearances in various television series before he took on a role in the 1992 film Alien 3 . Several short roles in film and television followed, until he became known to a wider audience in 2011 for his roles in the comedy Your Highness and as the zombie pirate Gunner in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides . He also starred alongside Karl Urban in the film Dredd in 2012 . From 2015 to 2016 he was seen as Areo Hotah in the hit HBO series Game of Thrones . He was also cast in the role of Dekembe for Independence Day: Return by director Roland Emmerich .
