Canindeyú ( Guaraní : Kanindeju ) is a department in Paraguay , it is one of a total of 17 administrative districts . The name is derived from the kandindé parrot and the contraction of sayjú yellow. It was founded in 1973 as a spin-off from the neighboring departments.
The department and the capital Salto del Guairá border on Brazil , which leads to a strong shopping tourism and gave the city the largest shopping center in the country. In the fertile area, corn, soy, sugar cane, wheat, cotton, rice and tobacco are grown and cattle, pigs and horses are raised.
