The Paso de Indios department is located in the center of the Chubut Province in southern Argentina and is one of the 15 administrative units in the province.
It is bordered by the Gastre department to the north, the Mártires department to the east, the Escalante , Sarmiento and Río Senguer departments to the south and the Tehuelches and Languiñeo departments to the west .
