The Rawson Department is located in the east of the Chubut Province in southern Argentina and is one of the 15 administrative units in the province.

It borders on the Biedma Department in the north, the Atlantic Ocean in the east, the Florentino Ameghino Department in the south and the Gaiman Department in the west .

The capital of the Rawson Department is Rawson .
