action

16-year-old Miki Witt is out with his friends one night. When he wants to get something to drink for the group, he happens to observe a murder. The men notice him and immediately go into pursuit. In the process, they also kill the policemen who Miki and his friends were trying to find help from. Nevertheless, the young people manage to get themselves to safety.

Miki is asked by the police to testify in court against the murderers who are part of Ahmed Sayed's criminal family clan and against whom the LKA has long tried to bring charges. Miki is determined to do this. To this end, he and his family are to be included in the witness protection program and taken abroad. The young LKA officer Sarah Brandt is responsible for explaining to Miki and his parents exactly what they should or should not do in the next fortnight. She herself soon has the feeling that she is being watched and knows what danger she and her protégés are in. Mario Lobeck, a police officer who already has a lot of experience in the witness protection program, and the young bodyguard Marleen Westermann are placed at her side.

Miki and his family are hidden in an Italian province. Here they live in a property that is equipped with every imaginable security system and is managed by the siblings Massimo and Patrizia Canzan. They are also trained security officers. Contrary to all instructions, Miki took his cell phone with him. Luckily Lobeck notices this in time before Miki can switch it on and takes it from him. Team leader Sarah Brandt has to confess to Lobeck that he is an alcoholic. However, this would not hinder him in his work, rather it would offer him advantages, because he would be brighter, more alert and usually faster. The next day, Brandt informs her superior Jürgen Decker of this problem and demands another colleague. However, Decker is unable to find a suitable replacement at such short notice. In addition to this obstacle, tensions also build up within the group, which suddenly fade into the background when Ahmed Sayed's killer attack the house. Despite all the precautionary measures they have found the hiding place and are supposed to kidnap Miki only because Ahmed Sayed wants to talk to him personally. The whole thing ends in a bloodbath and 3 people die, including the killer who is killed by Lobeck and who was able to prove his reliability.

Sarah Brandt contacts Decker and requests an immediate return to Germany. You and Lobeck are relieved personally by Decker and Miki and his mother are temporarily housed in a safe hotel. Brandt sees through her superior, because only he could have betrayed the hiding place to the Sayed clan. She confronts him and so he admits that the clan unfortunately had him in their hands. As soon as Decker is no longer "usable" for Ahmed Sayed, he finds a way to put Brandt under pressure, who continues to feel responsible for protecting Miki. He has her father kidnapped and demands her cooperation. She pretends to respond because she hopes to buy time and Lobeck could find her father. The plan doesn't work out and Decker is also killed, but she doesn't leave Miki to the clan either. But now he moves on to a new ruse. Since the trial against Ahmed Sayed and his people is to be brought forward, Miki is provided with legal advice. This is done by lawyer Petra Dräger, who wants to talk to Miki in private beforehand. In doing so, she makes it clear to him once again how significant his statement will be and what consequences this will have for him and his family. But Miki is not intimidated. He makes the mistake of taking a chewing gum from the lawyer and is poisoned by her. Sarah Brandt also receives a message that brings her the sad certainty of her father's death. So the whole police action didn't bring anything, but cost 6 people their lives. She then quits her job.

Miki's girlfriend reports to the police after a few days and declares that she wants to testify for Miki because she, too, had observed the murder. Because of this, those responsible for the Sayed clan are arrested and ultimately sentenced.

Reviews

Rainer Tittelbach from Tittelbach.tv said: The film is a “trip into the darkness”, which “follows the laws of the genre, but which cleverly and effectively varies familiar situations and comes up with twists that are unusual for ARD Degeto.” “The patterns Everyone knows - and yet this mixture of thriller & tragedy, an analytical view & emotional nuances grabs you from the first minute. The information policy is almost perfect - focused, physical, gripping. Greetings from Rio Bravo . The actors, above all Anna Bederke and Oliver Masucci, are great, and the pull of the narrative also corresponds to the pull created by Baxmeyer's staging. "

The Berliner Zeitung wrote: “In the end there is opacity, sadness, desolation - and only the gloomy certainty: the murderers are among us. With gray, often sterile images that make you shiver, director Baxmeyer conveys a world out of joint in 'The Order'. "

Wilfried Geldner from prisma.de said: “It could have been a family drama, even if it was a thriller that attracts the viewer with a lot of suction. But unfortunately there is too much wastage. Ideas overlap, scenes change - Kreuzberg, Rome, Glienicke Bridge, Drei Linden. The twists and turns are not as surprising as the creators obviously intended. Sometimes it seems as if an entire series concept has been packed into a single film. Nevertheless: The piece makes you want more! ”| on

At the Frankfurter Rundschau , Harald Keller judged: “The question is not whether the Sayeds contract killers will come, but when - and who will survive their attack. Writer Schmidt and director Baxmeyer adeptly keep these questions open, sounding out the complicated family relationships, the friction within the group, the mistrust and the doubts. However, closeness and close coexistence also provoke a flirtation and an affair between the German policewoman […] and her Italian colleague.

Julian Miller fromquotemeter.de assessed: “Author Holger Karsten Schmidt and director Florian Baxmeyer [have] wanted to present a humorous parody of all the soullessly cranked witness protection action material. The consequent mindlessness of the characters is rather an indispensable prerequisite for the outrageous dramaturgy at least to work somehow and for the plot to move from A to B: from the shooting to tearful recap and back again. "" The fact that the film chooses an unexpectedly tragic ending makes it narrative not braver. "
