In aggregate murder is a German TV movie of Walter Bannert of 1997 from a screenplay by Christian Grohmann-Colella . It is the 7th episode of the crime series Der Bulle von Tölz with Ottfried Fischer as the main actor in the role of Chief Inspector Benno Berghammer. It was first broadcast on January 26, 1997 on Sat.1 .

action

The antique dealer Franz Landig is found slain in the forest. He was quartered in the "Pension Resi". The investigation leads the inspectors Benno Berghammer and Sabrina Lorenz to Thomas Landig, the half-brother of the dead man, who openly admits to having had a bad relationship with him because Franz constantly cheated on customers. He also caught Franz in the antique shop of Marthe Posche, his friend Nicole's aunt, trying to clear out the safe.

The commissioners learn from Marthe Posche that Franz Landig worked for her deceased husband and learned to restore . She blames Landig for the downfall of the antique shop because he economized in his own pocket and ruined the reputation with his scams. While checking the vault, she discovers that a bishop's cross from the 13th century is missing. Berghammer takes the associated Bischofskrumme with him so that he can compare traces and fingerprints.

Nicole Posche suggests that the lawyer Ewald Rennmann will gradually take over her aunt's shop - he has already secured a power of attorney and hired the art historian Frauke Bierling as a consultant; Nicole herself is not interested in the business.

When a brand new, already paid Mercedes for Franz Landig is delivered to the Resi guesthouse, Benno Berghammer realizes that the dead man had a previously unimagined source of money. In a house that belonged to Franz Landig, the commissioners meet Nicole Posche and Thomas Landig, who broke in and discovered a list that suggests that Franz Landig sold fake stolen icons . The numbers behind the objects could be codes that belong to certain people, but this trail leads nowhere.

Inspector Berghammer confronts his mother because the old mantel clock has disappeared, whereupon she finally admits to having sold the treasure to Franz Landig for 3,000 marks. She is horrified to learn that the watch was valued at 40,000 marks. The following night, the Resi guesthouse is ravaged by a burglar, but he can only steal two icons before he is roused by Inspector Berghammer and escapes undetected. Resi Berghammer ransacked her bank account to buy back her mantel clock, but lawyer Rennmann hopelessly outbid it. He has mercy on Ms. Berghammer and wants to give her the watch, but her son Benno forbids it because he sees it as an attempt at bribery.

In the meantime, the forensic scientists have found out that the missing bishop's cross is probably the weapon of the crime , because the ruby found in a head wound seems to match it exactly. In addition, a torn patch containing skin particles from the victim was found. The inscription leads the commissioners to a remote mountain hut, the residents of which beat people up for a fee. They admit the attack on Franz Landig, but claim he was still alive when they left him injured. The clients were the auctioneer Berghof and the antique dealer Georg Erbacher. The two confess that they hired the thugs on behalf of lawyer Rennmann. Like the lawyer, they were blackmailed by Landig with his knowledge of the business with the fake icons. It was about receiving incriminating papers from Landig. Berghof and Erbacher are arrested for inciting murder.

Nicole Posche and Thomas Landig have concealed the fact that they found a key to a safe deposit box and pay the bank a visit. The locker contains a list of names and sums of money. Nicole Posche uses a copy of it as leverage to throw lawyer Rennmann out, but he is armed and locks her in the basement. Then he drives to Thomas Landig to request the original. The lawyer shoots the man and runs away, firmly believing that Thomas Landig is dead. But he gets up when the air is clear and alerts the detective, who drive to him immediately. The list he hands them out contains the names of the people Franz Landig blackmailed, including Berghof, Erbacher, Prelate Hinter and Rennmann.

Marthe Posche picks up the released bishop's crook from the police. Lawyer Rennmann immediately took it from her and called Prelate Behind to sell him the Krumme - 200,000 marks for the property, 70,000 marks for Rennmann. When the deal was just over, Berghammer and Lorenz storm the store with Thomas Landig in tow. Berghammer discovered the missing bishop's cross; he confiscated the bishop's crook, which the prelate had just bought. Landig threatens the lawyer with a gun and wants to know where Nicole is. Rennmann reveals to him, whereupon Sabrina Lorenz rushes into the cellar to free her. Nicole barely stops Landig from shooting the lawyer. Rennmann and Bierling are arrested.

The forensic investigation of the bishop's cross finally convicts the lawyer as the murderer of Franz Landig, although Rennmann wiped off his weapon and revoked his confession in order to blame Frauke Bierling for everything.

Benno Berghammer offers Prelate Hinter die Bischofskrumme for 400,000 marks. The clergyman hesitates and wants to haggle, but the inspector successfully lures him with the promise to make the name Hinter disappear from the tricky list of icons. Then the inspector goes home, where his mother's birthday party started. Nicole Posche and Thomas Landig also appear and give Resi Berghammer the old mantel clock.
