Maria Singer
Maria Singer (born February 1, 1914 in Ebenzweier , Altmünster municipality , Austria-Hungary , † June 4, 2003 in Aschheim , Upper Bavaria ) was an Austrian actress , Bavarian folk actress and character actress .
Life
Maria Singer was the daughter of a railway official who was transferred to the Salzburg-Vienna route in 1924. The family moved near Salzburg , where Maria attended the Mozarteum and received singing and speaking training. She took part in school performances and took part in performances of Jedermann as an extra . She completed her acting training from 1932 to 1934 at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna . Reinhardt had discovered the girl during the Jedermann rehearsals. She got her first stage role in 1934 at the Stadttheater von Schneidemühl / Pommern , where she met her colleague Hans Musäus (1910–1981), whom she married two years later. Their son Peter Musäus (* 1939) also became an actor.
Numerous engagements followed, including in Memel , Königsberg , Tübingen , Kassel and Hanover . During the Second World War she worked at the city theater of Klagenfurt . In 1964, Singer was hired by August Everding for the Münchner Kammerspiele , where she a. a. played alongside Therese Giehse and Walter Sedlmayr . In 1972 she took part in the Salzburg Festival . In addition to her stage roles, the actress has increasingly appeared in film and television since the 1960s, including popular successes such as the Komödienstadel , Kir Royal , Weißblauegeschichte , Die Scheinheiligen and Der Bulle von Tölz . She worked with Hans Moser , Heinz Rühmann , Rainer Werner Fassbinder , Gerhard Polt and Franz Xaver Bogner . She also worked as a spokeswoman for Bavarian Broadcasting.
In 1999 Maria Singer was seen for the last time on a Munich theater stage with the play Der Bauer als Millionär . Until recently she was involved in television productions. In 2003 she died at the age of 89 in Aschheim near Munich .
