action
Daniel Pratt resigned from the police force 10 years ago and went to Africa. His daughter stayed in France and fell victim to a secret commando who committed her friend's theft. They wanted to put an end to the criminals in Lyon by executing them and then shot them without further ado. Pratt returns to find his daughter's killers. The young commissioner Sabine Clement is entrusted with the case and is watching it at the behest of her superior and Pratt's friend from the old days Stéphane Rainer.
Pratt investigates on his own and learns from a well-known arms dealer that the murder weapons ( SPAS-12 rifles) have been handed over to Abel at the police firing range. When the gang goes out again to kill criminals, Pratt is there and can expose one of the men before he escapes. He tracks him down and knocks him down to find out the names of the buddies. Abel kills the confidant who is injured in the hospital.
Pratt finds one after another and the gang decimates. In doing so, he escapes several assassinations. When the gang breaks into Commissioner Clement's house to look for him, she is shot. Finally he looks for the last man next to Abel and falls into a police trap. He learns that the tip came from Stéphane Rainer and is able to flee with a hostage. In the subsequent chase he falls into a river, whereupon the police assume his death. Meanwhile, Rainer turns out to be the mastermind behind the command and shoots Abel when he no longer needs him.
Pratt learns from Rainer's wife that Rainer went to the circus with her son. Pratt takes on the role of a drunken clown whom he has overpowered in his car. As such, he brings Rainer under his control during a magic trick. Back in the car, Rainer admits that he wanted to fight the criminals because he felt so powerless as a police officer. The death of Pratt's daughter was not intended. Pratt decides not to kill Rainer after all and pulls away without his pistol. Rainer follows him and attacks him, but in the end shoots himself.
Reviews
“In places a tough underworld film that mainly serves as an action vehicle for the main actor Alain Delon; ambivalent through the propagation of vigilante justice. "
"Hard underworld film in which Alain Delon, as a former police superintendent, gets caught between the lines of police and gangsters because he wants to avenge his murdered daughter."
“In the mid-1980s, France's screen star Alain Delon turned more and more to action cinema. In this tough and violent genre work, which José Pinheiro staged based on a book that Delon also worked on, the actor and producer, who performed all of his stunts himself, shines in the role of the lone avenger who takes his daughter's murderer with everyone Wants to transfer funds. "
