The Robbery of the Sabine Women is an Italian-French-Yugoslav adventure film from 1961. Directed by Richard Pottier , the leading roles are played by Roger Moore and Mylène Demongeot .

The founding father of ancient Rome Romulus is dejected because he sees that Rome will perish without women and the offspring that go with them. As a consequence, Romulus sends out his armies, who in a deft action steal all the young Sabine women. But the robbed Sabines are demanding their wives back and threatening Rome with military action.

Leading actor Roger Moore fell in love with the Italian actress Luisa Mattioli while filming , whom he married in 1969 and with whom he had three children.
Enrico Bomba was co-director of the exterior shots made in Yugoslavia .
