action

In order to counteract aging, 38-year-old Hélène Masson goes to the treatment of Dr. Devilers. In a health clinic by the sea, he performs fresh cell therapy on her , from which many of his wealthy patients already benefit. Hélène befriends a fellow patient, the gay Gérôme. One evening he warns Hélène about therapy. It's addicting, he says.

The next morning he is found dead on the cliffs. Hélène is depressed by the incident, but still does not leave, as Gérôme advised her to do before his death. A premature discontinuation of the therapy is harmful to health, say the doctors.

When she repeatedly discovers that Portuguese employees at the clinic are fainting for no apparent reason, she begins background research. That remains also Dr. Devilers not hidden, who thereupon gives his suspicious patient special attention. Hélène and Devilers begin a sexual relationship. Hélène uses the liaison to sift through the files in Devilers' office while he sleeps. In order to help one of the apparently ill guest workers (Manoel) to escape, she looks for him in his room, where she observes from a hiding place how a doctor and a nurse from the clinic are treating the unconscious young man.

Your subsequent escape attempts are sabotaged. Your car is suddenly unfit to drive, the telephone lines are allegedly defective. In a final informative conversation, Devilers fully explains his methods to his patient. Manoel's body is hanging in one of the laboratory rooms, the organs were removed from her. The serum for fresh cell therapy is made from this. Hélène is horrified and stabs her doctor with a scalpel.

After being questioned by a criminal investigator who cannot find any evidence of illegal methods in the clinic, the latter confesses to Hélène that he, too, is a regular patient at the clinic and wants to stay that way.
