Businessman Konrad Hansen travels to Shanghai with his wife Ruth, where he meets the young musician Mei Jing. Jing lived a few years ago with the Hansens in Lübeck, where Konrad had a brief affair with her before he sent her back to Asia. When he finds out that he has a child with her, he falls from the clouds. At the same time, Hansen continues to work on his business idea of selling marzipan in China, which is also working well. But when plagiarism began to appear whose taste was confusingly similar to Hansen's Lübeck marzipan, he ran into problems.
