The last dance is a television film by the director Jan Ruzicka produced in 2005 by Studio Hamburg Produktion on behalf of NDR . The leading roles are played by Peter Sattmann as Dieter Walling, Hans Uwe Bauer as Willi and Franziska Walser as Anna. The setting is Hamburg and especially the small town of Friedrichskoog in Schleswig-Holstein, where Willi runs a seal station .

action

Three friends, members of a community of the 1968 movement , meet again by chance after more than thirty years. The seal station asks animal pharmacist and entrepreneur Dieter for help because of a seal disease. Dieter and Willi reveal their love to Anna in her hometown, where she runs the Der Deichgraf inn . At times there are conflicts between the very different men because they cannot cope with the past and both love Anna. The married Dieter starts a love affair with Anna, whom he proposed to marry at the time.

The film takes place in the present, the common past is dealt with in the retrospective . The title refers to the fact that Anna once taught Dieter to dance and the two dance in the present (for the last time).

criticism

"The (television) film allows its aging heroes a romantic look back at the 'good old days', but also confronts them with the legacies and mistakes of those years."
