England in the 17th century. King Charles II takes action against the Duke of Brampton, who wants to overthrow and kill him. However, Dermott recognizes the plan of the duke, a dismissed officer of the king who has said goodbye to the scheming court and had become a mugger. He tries to expose the traitorous Duke.
