Detlef Hörold

Detlef Hörold (born October 28, 1955 in Halle (Saale) ; † June 2, 2016 at Deiderode ) was a German entertainer and musician.

Life

Detlef Hörold was born in Halle (Saale) in 1955. After graduating from high school in 1974, he studied at the Martin Luther University in Halle. In addition to his ten-year classical piano and vocal training, he was active as a singer and musician in various bands for eleven years, including from 1982 to 1984 together with Paul Bartsch in a duo called HörBar . From 1984 Hörold worked as a freelance singer, songwriter, lyricist, pianist, entertainer and author. He worked on commissioned productions and, with his music cabaret, had also offered programs and CDs for children since 1984. The artist last lived in the small town of Uslar in southern Lower Saxony on the edge of the Solling .

He was a member of various bands for eleven years and has been a successful freelance soloist since 1984. Between 1985 and 1996 he won several prizes and became known nationwide for his musical and cabaret performances for children and adults. Hörold published several CDs with his own compositions and literary settings.

He died on June 2, 2016 in a traffic accident on the A 38 near Deiderode.

  • 1993: Winner of the Bavarian song competition Songs on a summer evening ( Kloster Banz ).
  • 1995: First prize, Bad Reichenhaller Salzkristall, song category (“Konstantin Wecker Prize”).
  • 1996: One of the three best winners from ten years of Festival Songs on a summer evening .
