Deuces Wild is an album of duets that BB King recorded for MCA Records in 1997 . In addition to the greats of blues music, BB King sings duets with Heavy D. , a rapper, or Willie Nelson , one of the greats of country music. The global fame of King can be seen in the fact that many European musicians also sing a duet with him or support the creation of the album as musicians ( Zucchero , Van Morrison , The Rolling Stones , Mick Hucknall ...), but only partially can be heard on the CD for the European market ( Jools Holland , Dionne Warwick , Paul Carrack , Zucchero).
The album was largely rejected by critics, but it reached the top spot on the Billboard charts. Despite being rejected by critics, the album was nominated for a Grammy in 1999 for Best Contemporary Blues Album.

Criticism
- Longtime fans who are aware of King's genre-stretching capabilities will find much to savor here. AMG Cub Coda (Long-term fans who are aware of King's cross-genre abilities will find plenty to enjoy here.)
- Every so often, the venerable Mr. King records with various pop stars: [DEUCES WILD] finds him entertaining with characteristic warmth and sincerity on a program mixing old favorites and new tunes ... 3 1/2 out of 5 stars Down Beat (2 / 98, p.59) (Occasionally the venerable Mr. King takes on different pop stars: Deuces Wild lets him bring a mix of old and new songs with the usual warmth and sincerity.)
- Although it's an overblown international project with no affinity for the meaning of the blues, the players and their love for the music triumph. - Stanley Booth (Although it's an exuberant international project with no relation to the meaning of the blues, the musicians and their love of music triumph)
- Looks great on paper. In reality, turns out to be OK, a collection of nice songs. electricblues.com (Sounds great, but in reality it's just OK, a collection of nice songs.)
- A record for people who think Joe Cocker's little beer music for sailing away is the epitome of the blues. What saves this Grammy-like all-star meeting, are the performances by BB King & Lucille, which are, as always, beyond doubt, and one or the other successful Zwiegesang. The record man says ... - BB's ability to make his guitar Lucille speak transcends stylistic boundaries, as heard on Deuces Wild Jas Obrecht Bass Player ( BB's ability to make Lucille speak beyond stylistic boundaries can be heard on Deuces Wild.)
