Results of the election committee of the German minority in the Opole Voivodeship in the parliamentary elections in Poland 2007

Election Committee German Minority ( Polish Komitet Wyborczy Mniejszość Niemiecka ; MN) is the name of the election committee of the German minority in Poland , which is active in the Opole Voivodeship and was established by the Social-Cultural Society of Germans in Opole Silesia . The full name of the committee is Election Committee Social-Cultural Society of Germans in Opole Silesia . The 5 percent hurdle does not apply to the German minority election committee representing a national minority . The election committee in the Opole Voivodeship is the only one of the German minority that regularly takes part in elections and is broadly based. The election committee of German Upper Silesia in the Silesian Voivodeship, for example, has so far only participated in a few elections.

history

In October 2010 the committee started its new campaign with the slogan “With Silesian character”. 508 people ran for the committee as candidates for local councils. 35 people ran for the office as mayor or mayor. 174 people ran as candidates for the district councils. 37 candidates ran for the Sejmik of the Opole Voivodeship.

In the elections for the Sejmik of the Opole Voivodeship on November 21, 2010, the committee achieved a result of 17.83% and thus achieved the second highest percentage of votes.

In the 2014 self-government elections, the elections for the Sejmik of the Opole Voivodeship, the German minority electoral committee with 830 candidates ran. For the first time, the election committee nominated Norbert Honka as a candidate for the office of city president in Opole. In 2014 the committee promoted with the slogan "Dobra Robota" (Good job).

Since the ruling party PiS was planning a change in the law in 2018, according to which only parties would be allowed to participate in local elections and thus electoral committees would be excluded in the future, the establishment of a party with the project name Regional Minority with a majority was considered . Among the supporters were u. a. the MP Ryszard Galla .

Under the slogan “Opolskie! Wspólna Sprawa “(Opole Land! Common Cause) will run the election committee in the local elections in 2018 in four constituencies and 34 municipalities of the Opole Voivodeship. Rafał Bartek, Roman Kolek, Herbert Czaja and Zuzanna Donath-Kasiura are among the top candidates in the constituencies.
