Diamond fever or buy yourself a colorful balloon is an Austrian no-budget feature film from 2012 by Peter Kern with Johannes Nussbaum , Anna Posch and Josef Hader in the leading roles. The cinema premiere took place on November 3, 2012 as part of the Viennale .

After the death of his parents, 15-year-old Hans is left to his own devices and has to look after his four brothers and his grandmother. Since he hopes to find the solution to his problems by making big money in the diamond business, he begins to play the courier for his criminal uncle Fritz. He sells fake diamonds to wealthy customers and the business flourishes. In the course of running errands, Hans meets young Melanie, who is kept in a golden cage by her wealthy parents. It starts to crackle between the two.
