Diamanthian is a British death metal band from Liverpool that was formed in 2000.
history
The band was formed in 2000 by singer and guitarist Scott Linton and drummer Pete Watson. A short time later, bassist Mick Gorry also joined. After the line-up with guitarist Stuart Penderghast was completed in 2001, the first appearances followed, mainly in the area from Glasgow to London . In 2002 Penderghast left the band to devote himself to his band Malefic. Kevin "Troy" Dixon joined the band five months later as a replacement. In early 2003, the band then recorded their first demo called Orchestrated Violence , which was released that same year. In September 2003 Mick Gorry left the cast as he emigrated to Australia . He was replaced by bassist Iain Turner. During a tour of Finland in August 2004 with Maple Cross , the band recorded their debut album The Infinite Descent with co-producer Jeff Walker . The album was released in March 2005 by Black Aura Records . Shortly after the release, Iain Turner left the band and was replaced by Kev Gurell. This was followed by further appearances together with Behemoth , Vader , Krisiun and Marduk . In January 2006 the band finished their second tour of Finland, in which Maple Cross again participated. In the following years some line-up changes took place. In 2006 Pete Watson was replaced by drummer Andy "Hatchets and Hammers" Campbell. In 2007 followed a small tour through Spain together with Baalphegor . After the tour, bassist Kev Gurell left the band. Four appearances followed in October with Baalphegor in Great Britain . In September the band recorded a promo demo. The band then signed a contract with Ossuary Industries in January 2008 . In 2008 further appearances followed throughout Great Britain, as well as five appearances in Switzerland and the Netherlands in October together with Censored and the Spanish band Meltdown. In March 2009, the recordings for the next album Arcana Doctrina began in Foel Studios in Wales with producer Chris Fielding . Shortly afterwards they found a new bass player in Mat "The Fist" Campbell. A tour of Scotland , Great Britain and Spain followed in November and December 2009 after the album was released. In the following two years, the band held gigs across Europe , playing with groups like Blood Red Throne , Prostitute Disfigurement , Satyricon , Dead Congregation and Entombed . In 2012 the band started work on a new album.
style
The band plays an aggressive form of death metal. The songs are reminiscent of Incantation and Immolation in the slower passages , while the faster passages are reminiscent of Morbid Angel .
