Dibenzodioxin is a heterocyclic aromatic organic compound consisting of a 1,4-dioxin with two fused benzene rings. The exact chemical name is dibenzo- p- dioxin, since the isomeric dibenzo- o- dioxin also exists alongside this . Dibenzodioxin is an aromatic ether . Its sulfur analogue is thianthrene .
Polyhalogenated derivatives are very well known as dioxins .
