The comedy trap was a two-hour comedy show moderated by Kai Pflaume on the private television station Sat.1 . It works on the principle of the hidden camera and is comparable to Understanding Fun? . In the years from 2005 to 2010 a total of 29 episodes of the comedy show were produced.

In each broadcast, several people were lured into "traps" by comedians . The comedians were given instructions on how to trick people, for example as the boss of a furniture store or as the manager of a bus trip. At the end of every broadcast there was the so-called "revenge trap". According to the motto “He deserves it”, people were tricked into this category who liked to play pranks on their friends and relatives themselves. The "vengeance trap" was headed personally by Kai Pflaume, who gave the actors instructions over a radio and appeared himself at the end of the trap to resolve the situation.

In June 2007 the comedy trap was re-presented after a long break. In addition to the four traps, there was now also a talent competition. In five numbers people were allowed to show their extraordinary talent; the best was chosen by the audience at the end. This competition was waived again in 2008. In 2009, the comedy trap was not broadcast again. As announced, three new episodes were broadcast from April 9 to 23, 2010.

From January 1 to May 16, 2011 best-of episodes of the show were repeated on Comedy Central .
