The big decision show in 2016 is the Swiss preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 . The singer Rykka won with the song The Last Of Our Kind .

On July 20, 2015, SRG SSR announced that it would participate in the Eurovision Song Contest in Stockholm and published its concept for a national preliminary decision. The final is to take place on February 13, 2016 in the Bodensee-Arena in Kreuzlingen . The national preliminary decision is organized by the Swiss television broadcasters SRF, RTR, RTS and RSI.
Choice of contribution
SRF / RTR selected its 10 interpreters through a jury and internet vote. For this purpose, a video could be uploaded to the broadcaster's platform from September 28 to October 26, 2015. RTS selected its artists and songs internally, RSI selected its participants on November 9, 2015 through a regional selection process. A three-person jury consisting of Paolo Meneguzzi, Gabriel Broggini and Simone Tomassini made the decision there. In an expert check, which took place on December 6, 2015 in Zurich, 19 candidates presented their song to an expert jury. There were 10 candidates for SRF and RTR, 6 for RTS and 3 for RSI. From these candidates, the jury selected 3 candidates for SRF and RTR, two for RTS and one for RSI. The expert check was broadcast on the internet at srf.ch/eurovision .

On November 24, 2015, the broadcasters announced their participants. Elias Bertini, Nathalie, Gina von Glasow and Bella C had also submitted their contributions to SRF; The former also took part in the expert check in 2015. Patric Scott took part in the decision show back in 2012.

In the finale on February 13, 2016, the six performers presented their own song and in the second round a cover version of a previously selected song. The audience (50%) and an expert jury (50%) then selected Rykka as the interpreter who will represent Switzerland at the Eurovision Song Contest.
