Diego Madrigal (born March 19, 1989 in San José ), with full name Diego Josué Madrigal Ulloa , is a Costa Rican football player .
Career
society
Diego Madrigal learned to play football in the youth team of La U Universitarios . Here he signed his first professional contract in 2008. The club from the Costa Rican province of Heredia played in the highest league in the country, the Liga de Fútbol de Primera División . In 2010 he moved to league competitor CS Herediano in Heredia . At the beginning of 2011 he went to Paraguay . Here he joined the in the first division, the Primera División de Paraguay , playing Club Cerro Porteño . For the club from Asunción , he completed five first division games. In September 2011 he returned to his former club CS Herediano. In February 2012 there was a loan to Manchester Howrah in India . After a month, the loan agreement was canceled. He moved to CD Saprissa in 2013 via Santos de Guápiles FC (Costa Rica) . With the club from San Juan de Tibás he won the Torneo de Copa de Costa Rica in 2013 . In early 2014 he went to Azerbaijan . Here he signed the premyer Liqası , playing in the first division İnter Baku from Baku . By September 2015 he had played 16 first division games. He then moved back to his home country, where he played for Belén FC and LD Alajuelense . In January 2017 he moved to Asia . Here he signed a contract with the Thai first division club Suphanburi FC . With the club from Suphanburi he played in the country's first division, the Thai League . After the Hinserie and 14 games, he was without a contract or club from July 2017 to January 2018. From February 2018 to August 2018 he played for his former club Santos de Guápiles FC, then at AD San Carlos . He played for the club from Ciudad Quesada until June 30, 2020. Since July 2020 he has been without a contract or club.
National team
Diego Madrigal played seven times for the Costa Rica U20 national team . The team took part in the 2009 U-20 World Cup in Egypt . From 2010 to 2011 he played eleven times in the senior national team . He made his international debut on January 26, 2010 in a friendly against Argentina . In the game he was substituted on after half-time for Esteban Granados and in the 76th minute he scored his first goal.
