Dieter Höss

Dieter Höss (born September 9, 1935 in Immenstadt ; † March 11, 2020 in Cologne ) was a German writer .

Life

Dieter Höss came to Cologne in 1953 via Augsburg and Frankfurt am Main . There he attended the Cologne factory schools and trained as a graphic designer . He was self-employed in this profession for ten years. In addition, he attended an evening grammar school , where he passed the matriculation examination in 1960 . Parallel to a subsequent study, his first poems appeared in the satirical magazines " Simplicissimus " and " Pardon ". Later also the " Die Zeit ", the " Stern ", the " Süddeutsche Zeitung " and the " Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger " published his humorous works. Höss lived as a freelance writer in Cologne.

Dieter Höss was mainly the author of poems of a satirical and parodic character. Formally, he preferred Limerick , and later also the sonnet .

Dieter Höss had been a member of the Association of German Writers since 1970 . In 2000 he received the Rheinische Literaturpreis of the city of Siegburg .

He died in 2020 at the age of 84 and was buried in his place of birth, Immenstadt.
