Dieter Mützelburg

Dieter Mützelburg (born September 2, 1943 in Duisburg ) is a German politician ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ), was a member of the Bremen citizenship and state chairman of the Bremen Greens as well as a state councilor at the finance minister in Bremen.

Life

education and profession

Until 1963 Mützelburg graduated from high schools in Hanover and Braunschweig, where he also passed the Abitur. He studied law , social sciences and education at the University of Erlangen , the University of Bonn , the University of Göttingen and the University of Bremen . He completed his studies as a social scientist.

During his studies, Mützelburg wrote as a staff member and editor for a local newspaper in Göttingen and edited student newspapers. With the establishment of the Bremen local edition of the Berliner “tageszeitung” he wrote part-time for this paper on the sports pages (1986–1990).

From 1969 to 1971 he was a research associate at the Sociological Research Institute in Göttingen with a few smaller publications. From 1971 he worked as an administrative clerk at the University of Bremen in teacher training, from 1982 lecturer for sports science. He published essays mainly on the subjects of "Sport and Environment" and "Sports Education". From 1983 to 1985 he was a member of parliament. In 1991 he returned to public administration as a consultant in the Senate Department for Education, Science and Art. From 2003 to 2007 he worked as an employee at Bremer Straßenbahn AG and at the Senator for Construction, Environment and Transport in the area of investment management .

Mützelburg is third married to the Bremen politician Karin Krusche (Greens).

politics

Mützelburg was already active in university politics during his studies. In 1967 he was AStA chairman at the University of Göttingen. At the end of the 1960s he was a member of the Young Democrats , then a youth organization of the FDP. From 1971 to 1973 he was on the board of the GEW Bremen. From 1972 to 1983 he was a member of the staff council of the University of Bremen. Because of his activities for the Communist League of West Germany , he was to be dismissed from university service in 1975/76 at the instigation of Senators Moritz Thape and Horst Werner Franke . The professional ban against Mützelburg failed u. a. the solidarity of his colleagues and the fact that he was a member of the university staff council. He registered the demonstration against the armed forces vow in Bremen's Weser Stadium , during which violence broke out on May 6, 1980.

After separating from the KBW, he became involved in the committee against professional bans and the anti-nuclear movement. In 1979 he was a member of the executive committee of the Alternative List voters' association. After their failure in the 1979 general election, he supported the founding of the Bremen Greens. In March 1983 he was an unsuccessful direct candidate for the Bundestag. On October 13, 1983 he became a member of the Bremen citizenship, from which he resigned on October 9, 1985 ( rotation principle ). From 1986 to 1988 and 1991 he was one of the spokesmen for the state executive of the Greens. From 1991 to 2003 he was again a member of the Bremen Parliament and temporarily chaired the budget and finance committee during the coalition with the SPD and FDP.

In September 2003 Mützelburg was again spokesman (chairman) of the Bremen Greens together with Susan Mittrenga. After the success in the mayor elections he was from 2007 to October 2011 in the red-green state government State Council in the finance department of Senator Karoline Linnert (Greens).
